CTI has evolved from the small local hauling business started in 1930 by the Gibbons family in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to 1997, the company operated as Cement Transporters, Inc. when several family businesses were consolidated under the CTI logo.

Today, CTI's regional trucking operations are run by Gregg Gibbons - CEO, son of the founder, G.L. "Rusty" Gibbons & Shandy Copening - Vice President. The company is privately held and diversified into farming, ranching and real estate. The core business has continued to be hauling bulk commodities throughout the Southwest region of the United States.
